Merry Merry Month of May !

Hello Friends!

Spring is a wonderful time of the year.  The birds that came flocking back to town are now building nests everywhere!  There are even some very happy song sparrows up in the roof top gutter chirping away!

Up north here we are still getting spring rain showers and there are bits of snow on the mountains but big bunches of yellow daffodils are showing up and flowering trees are blossoming white and pink petals here and there. And mud season appears to be over!

Out and About

This is a perfect time of the year to visit Cape Cod.

We headed south and the dogs were excited to cross the big “skinny” bridge high up over the Cape Cod Canal.  Of course they wanted to sit on the roof for the best view of the big ships coming in from sea.

Those silly dogs wanted me to put their beach chairs up on the roof so they could sit in front row seats for the bridge crossing! What silly dogs! What a sight to see two folding chairs on top of the car roof with 2 dogs sitting in them!

Then that ocean breeze came racing up that canal and even with ropes, life jackets and parachutes those chairs could barely hang on so the dogs were convinced to come back into the car for the ride over the canal !

We met new friends at the Sandwich Public Library, visiting from the Discovery Center, the Family Network and the local preschools.  The children and parents were very happy to sing spring songs!  Sandwich is a true community center library, hosting a diverse range of groups and events.

Mr. Stu Parsons the librarian was chosen by the New York Times as “Children’s Librarian of the Year” for all of the USA!   He’s a very cool guy who wears sandals to work! (with socks of course, for this chilly spring weather!)

Then it was off to the North Conway, NH Scenic Railway for the “Bunny Express”. The children and families hopped on the train and took a ride up into the White Mountains to Bartlett, NH for a fun time singing and dancing with the dogs and me. Then everyone hopped back on the train for scenic ride back to North Conway.
It was a big adventure for everyone!

Last week we visited Holderness, NH where we had a delightful time at the Central School with a public concert for all ages; toddlers to middle schoolers, camp counselors parents and grandparents!
The dogs thought this was a great opportunity to try out some new jokes on everyone and they started practicing their foreign languages.  Doggie said “No problem!” in French and Spanish to the surprise of all!
