December
was fun, exciting and snowy!
My annual
visit to Wonder
Years in Wilmington, MA was once again
"wonderful ". At first the toddlers
were reluctant to enter the activity room,
because recently the photographer was there
and the little ones did not find that
experience particularly
"entertaining". However
in about half a minute, after Mr. Thumbkin
appeared the sniffles disappeared and we had
our usual great time together.
A return
visit to the Brunswick,
ME Naval AirStation was much
anticipated, with the staff there all prepared
and ready to go. They made
a huge 10-foot banner displayed prominently
outside and inside the Rec. Hall, with a huge
image of me and my puppets friends. It was so
cool I brought one home. My heart went out to
all the families there whose Dads are in Iraq.
We
began a new monthly session at the Barrington,
NH Moms Club. Nothing
like moms with toddlers on laps singing
together! The curious
inquisitive antics of the little ones both
brighten my day, and keep me on my toes!
Usually one child positions themselves
standing three feet away from me and stands
there for the whole session!
Once again
there was a great holiday party at the Newbury
MA Town Library. I
returned this year to warm up the crowd for
Santa. And the little ones
warmed up the room rapidly with their
energetic dancing to the music of "Felix
Navidad" It was confirmed by the youngest
group there that reindeer can fly because they
are "magic"!
Over in Dover,
NH at New Horizons, Miss Julie Anne and
Miss Carol made the spirit bright for their
little ones and parents, hosting the best
holiday party around. It's
so nice to be a part of a holiday tradition
where I first visited 10 years ago. And it's
always nice for the parents who can make it to
the late afternoon party after a hard days'
work!
On New
Years Eve we welcomed 2008 at
First Night in Wolfeboro NH!
It was a great sunny day for the
children and their parents to come and
celebrate.
We sang
and danced and had our pictures taken with
toddlers who spontaneously came up on stage
and sat on my lap after the show. It
appears I was considered a friend! Also we had
some good jolly Irish fun with the Murphy
family in the front row on one side and the
Doyle family on the other. Cameron Doyle (5)
laughed out loud at literally everything I
said!
Of course
Doggie and Big Dog were all excited about the
fireworks that popped and banged over the lake
and couldn't stop running up and down the
sliding hill with all the kids! All of
Wolfeboro was covered in a fresh sparkling new
blanket of snow! Everybody
was sliding and rolling in it! What
fun!
