November was
exciting and busy!
We ended October with a
bang at the
Progress Software Halloween party. We met lots of new
friends in Bedford, MA who arrived at the party in funny,
silly and scary costumes. Many tiny ballerinas and angels came
to sing, dance and eat piles of candy! Big Dog and Doggie
couldn't stop eating the candy corn! They loved it. They
never saw corn that was candy before. They wanted to put it on
their ice cream!
The very next week Miss
Mary and I went on a road trip to western Massachusetts. Miss
Mary spent her days out painting in the back woods of the
Berkshires and the dogs and I went to sing with our good
friends in
East Longmeadow, MA. The children at
Busy Bee Preschool are bright little angels who had a
great time laughing and talking to the dogs. They were so happy
to see them again.
Our friends at
Pryme Tyme Preschool were waiting and so happy to see
us as all year long they play the So Glad CD and paint
pictures to the music. Its always fun to see the children
being picked up by their parents who line up along the street
and drive up chauffeur style while the teachers deliver each
child to the parents car. I met a new little friend Anthony
from
Kazakhstan who smiled and danced non stop the whole
time.
The next day we visited
Szetela Early Childhood School in
Chicopee. This was the 5th visit for the
dogs and me. For the dogs this is always the high point of
the fall season. There were over one hundred children at each
concert and you could hear them singing and laughing all over
the school. It's definitely a musical kind of school; Joyce
the janitor sings and hums the whole day long.
Just this past weekend we
had a big fun day at the annual
Tree Lighting Party in
North Berwick. What a blast! A party in our own
hometown. The dogs were very excited! The dogs went up and
sat in the gazebo the whole time to watch the fun. Santa came
and sat in a big chair next to them and the children came and
told
Santa how good they had been the whole year. They then
mailed all their letters to Santa at the North Pole in the
special mailbox next to the gazebo.
The dogs of course were
not concerned with being good, so they stuck their noses in
everything and had to be told to sit in the gazebo. They
wanted to ride in the horse drawn wagon, eat fried dough,
Christmas cookies and cupcakes, gingerbread, and candy canes,
nachos and hot dogs!
The Girl Scouts, the Boy
Scouts, the
North Berwick Rec Department, Seacoast Christian Bell
Choir, the Bethel Church Choir, the Hurd School Band, and the
American Legion were all there. When the bell choir played it
sounded like music from heavenly realms! The North Berwick Rec
held all kinds of old-fashioned games for ages 2 to 92! The
wreath toss was the most fun. Some children could throw it
really far!
Everybody had so much fun
drinking hot chocolate, voting for the best gingerbread house
and listening to
Mrs. Claus read stories. Then everyone gathered around
the gazebo and sang and jingled bells to all their favorite
Christmas songs. Right after dark the tree lights came on and
everybody cheered!
